New Delhi: An Air India flight from Mumbai to Jodhpur had to make an emergency landing on Tuesday afternoon at the IGI airport after a hydraulic problem was detected in it while it was air bound.
Airport officials said around 12.26pm, the pilot of the Air India flight-AI645, noticed vibration in the engine of the aircraft. The pilot immediately conveyed the situation to the nearest Air Traffic Controller seeking a permission to land. The plane remained air bound under emergency for 20 minutes before it landed safely at the IGI.
“Being near to the capital, the Delhi ATC responded and a path for the aircraft was cleared. The flight was allowed to land at the airport. Meanwhile, airport rescue and fire fighting services were put on alert to tackle with any untoward situation during landing. There were 88 passengers and six crew members and all of them safely de-boarded the aircraft,” said an airport official.
